Looking for an Assistant Horse Manager

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated professional to join the team at Equus Silvania as an Assistant Horse Manager.

Located in Romania, in Șinca Nouă, at the foothills of the Transylvanian Carpathians, Equus Silvania is a leading equestrian and wilderness experience centre, part of the ecotourism programme of Foundation Conservation Carpathia through Travel Carpathia.

About the role

The Assistant Horse Manager supports the Horse Manager in the daily coordination of horse operations, ensuring:

  • Excellent animal welfare and stable management
  • High-quality guest experiences and hospitality
  • Smooth tourism operations
  • Strong collaboration with guides, farm staff, and the wider team

Main responsibilities

  • Guiding horse tours and delivering riding lessons (from 1-hour rides to week-long experiences)
  • Training and supervising horse guides
  • Assisting with horse training, riding plans, and young horse development
  • Monitoring stable operations, horse health, feeding, and equipment
  • Supporting guest activities and presenting the foundation’s conservation mission
  • Assisting with administrative tasks, communication, and social media content
  • Contributing to team coordination and quality control

Requirements

  • Excellent riding skills and ability to handle forward-going horses in all conditions
  • Experience in horse training and stable management
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Fluent English (Romanian is an advantage)
  • Good digital skills (MS Office, social media)
  • Category B driving licence (BE licence is an advantage or willingness to obtain it)
  • Responsible, solution-oriented, and customer-focused mindset
  • Passion for conservation, nature, and outdoor life
